Man found beaten on Mockingbird Lane in April dies of injuries

Police are investigating the death of Avery Norwood, a 34-year-old man found beaten and unconscious in Stemmons Corridor in April.
On April 6, police found Norwood at around 8:35 a.m. in the 700 block of W. Mockingbird Lane. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.
After more than four months, Dallas police were notified on Aug. 21 that Norwood died from his injuries. Police are now investigating his death as a homicide but did not provide any information about a suspect.
